Without question, 2020 has been the most challenging year for our community, state, and nation. Yet at Hamot Health Foundation, our team has remained steadfast in staying ahead of the curve.

Participate in thoughtful remembrances, inspirational reflections, and music to remember those who have passed and to honor someone who is special in your life. We are accepting donations to support the Family Hospice of Erie through Dec. 30, 2020.

One person's journey from patient family member to employee to donor. Kaitlynn King is a patient care technician who works on 5 South — UPMC Hamot’s COVID unit. A native of Erie, Kaitlynn moved to Florida after graduating from high school. Last October, she received a call that her grandmother was seriously ill. “She was my best friend since day one,” Kaitlynn said, “so there was no question about rushing back to see her.”

Along with COVID, our community is experiencing increased rates of depression, anxiety, family challenges, substance use, and “burnout” as they adapt to all the changes the pandemic has created.
