Volunteer with the UPMC Hamot Aid Society

Founded in 1906, the UPMC Hamot Aid Society currently has over 150 members/volunteers.

The mission of the UPMC Hamot Aid Society is to serve and support the needs of UPMC Hamot, its patients and guests, and honor the needs of the Society through volunteer service, education, and fundraising. Each year, the organization contributes more than 8,000 volunteer hours to UPMC Hamot.

Beyond volunteering, UPMC Hamot Aid Society benefits the hospital and the community through:

  • Nursing Scholarships — Scholarships are awarded annually to help employees enrolled in nursing programs with their continuing education expenses.
  • Fundraising Projects — Proceeds from fundraising projects are used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment and to fund programs and activities at Hamot Health Foundation. Fundraisers include gift shop sales, vendor sales, and the baby pictures program at Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot.
