UPMC Honors Martin Luther King Jr. Through Service

The MLK Community Service Projects sponsored by UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion, are large-scale volunteerism efforts that allow UPMC employees to participate in community service projects that benefit non-profit organizations. Service is central to the mission at UPMC, and in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s spirit of service to the community, UPMC, UPMC Hamot, UPMC Health Plan, and Hamot Health Foundation were honored to have been chosen to host a MLK Community Service Project right here in our community.

On Monday, November 14, 2022, over 100 UPMC Hamot and UPMC Health Plan employees graciously volunteered to assemble warming kits for distribution to several community partnering organizations. This day of service took place at the UPMC Health Plan Operations Center. A special thanks to the UPMC Health Plan local team for their instrumental role in this event!

The warming kits were distributed to 13 community organizations serving those with housing insecurities.
