Support the Clothing Fund

Case Management Clothing Drive

April is not only National Donate Life Month — it’s also National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Hamot Health Foundation funds comfortable clothing for patients in the Emergency Department who need new garments upon discharge — including victims of sexual assault. Often, these patients have to surrender their clothing as evidence, or their clothes need to be replaced because they are torn and dirty.

Last month, Hamot Health Foundation purchased hundreds of sweat pants and sweatshirts for the Emergency Department staff and case managers to have on hand for these tragic situations. And we are committed to replenishing the supply of clothing whenever it gets low.

UPMC Hamot wants every patient to leave the hospital with dignity. That’s why the change jars throughout the hospital will be directed toward the Emergency Department Clothing Fund during the month of April. If you are in the hospital next month, please consider dropping in some change!
