Orthopaedic Mission Trip

Orthopaedic Mission Trip

Care isn’t limited to the walls of the hospital, especially for a team of 14 UPMC Hamot staff members who traveled to Valladolid, Mexico, earlier this month.

The team, which included physicians, residents, and other staff, spent the week providing free medical and surgical care to nearly 130 patients who otherwise could not afford or access the care they need.

The team has a Facebook Page and Blog where they shared updates and photos from the trip if you are interested in reading more about their experiences. (Please be advised that a few of the photos on Facebook show details of surgical procedures.)

A portion of the 2nd annual trip was funded by the John Monocello Orthopaedic Education Fund at Hamot Health Foundation. By giving to this fund, you will help ensure that others who don’t live close to world-class care can still get the care they deserve.
