Cheers to Change: A Different Kind of Kickoff
At HHF, we love to shake things up.
That’s why we recently traded our traditional leadership luncheon for a happy hour and let a powerful new video kick off this year’s corporator campaign.
This year, the campaign looks and feels a little different. It shines a spotlight on the overlooked, the forgotten—those experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty.
Through BUILD CDC's Street Outreach program, our team has cultivated relationships that taught us three truths: these individuals want to work, they crave stability, and they need a safe place to call home.
Street Outreach helps them get there.
During a lively evening of conversation and connection, guests learned how HHF and BUILD CDC change lives through Street Outreach. And while the word “outreach” sounds simple, the work is anything but.
This is not a quick check-in or a one-time visit. It is sustained relationship-centered care rooted in trust, dignity, and individual readiness for change. It is friendship, hope, and commitment. And, it works. Street Outreach helps people move from crisis to stability, from isolation to connection.
Over time, the team has helped individuals re-engage with primary care and participate in consistent mental health treatment. As a result, many have received life-changing medical procedures, secured stable housing, maintained employment, and seen a dramatic improvement in their health and well-being.
And we’re just getting started.
Street Outreach has the potential to change more than individual lives. It can strengthen our entire community. The leadership happy hour reflected this, echoing our approach as a foundation: thoughtful, innovative, and unafraid to try bold ideas in service to our mission.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
