All of Us Supports Hamot Strong
The University of Pittsburgh All of Us Pennsylvania research team was proud to serve as a sponsor for Hamot Strong 2021 and to help celebrate UPMC Hamot’s health care heroes.
What is the All of Us Research Program?
All of Us is a large research program from the National Institutes of Health. The goal is to learn how differences between us might lead to different types of treatments. Health care is often one-size-fits-all, but imagine if, in the future, health care could be tailored to each person. How? By creating a data resource that allows researchers to conduct thousands of studies on health and disease.
The hope of the All of Us Research Program is to enroll 1 million or more participants who share information about their health, habits, and what it’s like where they live. They do this by answering online surveys and by donating blood, urine, and/or saliva samples. By looking for patterns in this information, researchers may learn more about what affects people’s health.
Why should you get involved?
By joining the All of Us Research Program, you will be contributing to an effort to improve the health of generations to come. You may also learn about your own health.
There is no cost to join in the program and participation is incentivized. Furthermore, great care is always taken to protect your privacy.
All of Us operates a clinic site at 5050 West Ridge Road in West Millcreek for convenient local access to the program.
