Volunteers serve in various areas of hospital operations including, but not limited to:

  • Campus Navigator
  • Endoscopy
  • Family Waiting Room
  • Gift Shop
  • Hillman Cancer Center in Erie
  • Hospital Ambassador - 6S
  • No One Dies Alone
  • Pet Therapy
  • Radiology
  • Safe Harbor Crisis Residential Unit
  • Surgery Center
  • Transplant
  • Women’s Hospital Guest Representative

How to become a volunteer:

  1. Complete the online volunteer application form
  2. Submit two confidential references using one of the options below:
    1. Paper referral — Download this PDF and ask two references to either mail or fax the form directly to the hospital selected.
    2. Online referral— Send this link to two individuals giving them instructions to select the hospital you've selected.

Please note - Applicants to UPMC Hamot Aid Society will be asked to have a TB test and a flu shot. They will be expected to pass a security clearance through the hospital, attend a general orientation about working at UPMC Hamot and sign documents agreeing to HIPPA requirements and UPMC Hamot Aid Society guidelines.
