Women Driving Philanthropy Raises $27,000!
We are overwhelmingly grateful that the 3rd Annual Women Driving Philanthropy golf outing presented by United Way of Erie County and The Erie Women's Fund raised $27,000 for the Pregnancy Recovery Center Fund at Hamot Health Foundation!
It is because of passionate community members like these golfers that the Pregnancy Recovery Center will be able to serve pregnant mothers who are searching for help.
The Pregnancy Recovery Center is scheduled to open at 300 State St. in December. The reality is that most women with substance use disorder are highly motivated to recover, but there are limited resources available to them in their unique situation. The Pregnancy Recovery Center was created to give these mothers the resources, support, and accountability they need to begin a successful recovery for themselves and their children.
The comprehensive services that will be offered will enable pregnant mothers and new families to connect with physical health care, substance use and behavioral health treatment, food and nutrition support, and a range of other services in pregnancy, the post-partum period, and beyond. The relationships that staff members make with families during this time create a hopeful future for generations to come to be more stable and free of substance use disorder.
Many of the services offered at the Pregnancy Recovery Center are non-reimbursable, which is why philanthropy is such a key element to its continued existence. That is why we could not be more thankful to each golfer, sponsor, and supporter of the Women Driving Philanthropy event!
