Opening Doors: New Neighborhood Center Unlocks Opportunity and Connection
On July 31, 2025, HHF staff and stakeholders braved the rain to gather for a ribbon-cutting on the new UPMC Health Plan Neighborhood Center, located at 803 East Avenue.
The Center will host a rotating lineup of community-focused organizations, all dedicated to helping people thrive. These include:
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest PA—providing a market and pantry space where residents can grocery shop by appointment
- UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor—providing mental health and well-being services
- UPMC Pathways to Work and PA Career Link—providing job search and application assistance
- UPMC Hamot and Hamot Health Foundation—providing health and wellness programming
- UPMC Health Plan Community Health Workers—providing health care navigation and referral to support services
- BUILD CDC, Redevelopment Authority of Erie, Erie’s Black Wall Street, Greater Erie Community Action Committee, and others—providing assistance with affordable housing, emergency rental relief, financial assistance, literacy and education services, legal aid and more

"Under one roof—under this roof—we can do incredible things," said Mary Beth Jenkins, Executive VP of UPMC Insurance Services Division and COO of UPMC Health Plan.
Be sure to stop by the UPMC Health Plan Neighborhood Center open house on August 10 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., happening in conjunction with the Wayne Community Health Fair and followed by the 814 Concert in Wayne Park. Don't miss this great opportunity to see for yourself what all the hype is about!
