Keystone 10 Breastfeeding Initiative

​Hamot Health Foundation has secured a grant through the Keystone 10 Breastfeeding Initiative with the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Keystone 10 Initiative was developed to assist birthing facilities in improving breastfeeding care and ultimately improving the health of mothers and babies. The grant promotes the establishment of breastfeeding policy, implementation of procedure improvements, and supporting of families through breastfeeding education. Identified maternity care practices include breastfeeding initiation, exclusive breastfeeding, skin-to-skin contact, and rooming-in.

The Keystone 10 Initiative grant will benefit patient care at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital–UPMC Hamot Campus. This grant demonstrates HHF's commitment to supporting centers of excellence at UPMC Hamot.
