A Community Power Play
HHF recently teamed up with UPMC and the Erie Otters Hockey Club for a high-energy weekend dedicated to standing up to cancer.
Thanks to the generosity of fans and supporters, more than $10,000 was raised for HHF’s cancer funds. These dollars stay right here in Erie, supporting clinical care, advancing cancer research, and providing financial assistance to local patients navigating the toughest moments of their lives.
The ceremonial puck drop honored three local cancer survivors and passionate Otters fans: Dr. Sean Carroll, Keith Hodinko, and Wayne Oaks. In the arena’s main lobby, the Remembrance Wall displayed hundreds more names, reflecting the many families in our community affected by cancer each year.
Hockey Fights Cancer was Erie’s chance to rally, and our community delivered! Fans packed the arena nearly to capacity, and the enthusiasm around the silent auction, raffle baskets, and signed jerseys was undeniable.
To everyone who showed up, donated, or competed for auction items, you have our deepest thanks. Your support gives local patients the power-play advantage in their fight against cancer.
