From Outreach to Impact: Drevell Showers Steps into New Role

We have news to share!

Drevell Showers, HHF’s Outreach Coordinator, has been promoted to Program Manager of Erie's soon-to-open UPMC Health Plan Neighborhood Center – a newly created role.

Over the past four years, Drevell has made an incredible impact — not only on the HHF team, but across the Erie community. A proud east Erie native, he’s drawn on his lived experience to build connections, earn trust, and help shape our mission on the ground.

Slated to open in summer 2025 at 803 East Avenue, the Erie UPMC Health Plan Neighborhood Center will be the first of its kind outside Pittsburgh — a space designed to meet community needs beyond healthcare. The Center will offer a variety of wraparound services aimed at improving quality of life and strengthening neighborhood connections. One early partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank will provide residents with a new, accessible way to shop for groceries close to home.

As Program Manager, Drevell will play a key role in shaping the Center’s launch and ongoing impact — overseeing daily operations and working to ensure that every service is rooted in the lived realities of the people it serves. Having spent years cultivating relationships as HHF’s Outreach Coordinator, Drevell brings a rare combination of insight, empathy, and credibility to his new role. He's intimately familiar with the work of building trust and bridging gaps between residents and the health care system, a foundation that positions him to drive meaningful impact from day one.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Drevell for his outstanding contributions to HHF. While we’ll certainly miss him on our team, we’re excited to see him continue serving the community — and we look forward to collaborating closely with him in his new role as a vital partner in advancing our shared mission.
