Erie Gives
Hamot Health Foundation humbly acknowledges the overwhelming outpouring of support funneled through our office following the tragic events of Aug. 11.
A devastating house fire claimed the lives of five young children — La'Myhia Jones, Luther Jones, Jr., Ava Jones, Dalvin Pacley, and Jaydan Augustyniak, leaving a shaken and heartbroken community in its wake.
Erie and its surrounding region is home to caring and generous people. This has never been more evident than what was witnessed in the community response to this tragedy.
This money will support the families of the children, the courageous first responders, and organizations directly involved in the overall response, including the Red Cross.
In an astonishing display of community momentum, Country Fair, Inc., raised $81,500 for this same cause. Vice President Paul Rankin announced through Erie Gives that Country Fair is entrusting these funds to Hamot Health Foundation to ensure distribution with integrity and compassion.
All funds raised between HHF and Country Fair will be used to defray expenses related to or resulting from the fire. This includes working with area partners to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again. Country Fair and Hamot Health Foundation are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with compassion in this time of intense need and unimaginable loss.
Special thanks are extended to The Erie Community Foundation for their continued leadership through Erie Gives Day.
