At HHF, we love rolling up our sleeves.
Especially when it means spending a sunny day investing in our community.
Two weeks ago, our team was joined by people from all corners of the community — ECAT staff, nursing students, neighbors, and even John, an unhoused friend featured in our January newsletter — all focused on the same goal: cleaning up East Avenue and the streets surrounding Wayne campus.
Organized by Laura Guncheon, BUILD CDC's Executive Director, the clean-up crew donned gloves and scoured the neighborhood, filling garbage bags and turning sweat equity into visible impact, one block at a time.
BUILD’s investment in East Avenue is substantial, but a place is ultimately strengthened by moments like this, when neighbors show up and work shoulder to shoulder toward a shared goal.
This is what belonging to one another looks like: personal investment and a commitment to the community — values Fred Rogers would have appreciated.
