2025 Corporator Project- Schoolhouse Apartments

Health Begins at Home

Housing First Erie is elevating the quantity and quality of safe, affordable housing in Erie. Housing instability is perhaps the single greatest predictor of poor health for any member of our community, creating higher rates of chronic mental and physical health conditions, and barriers to care that prevent individuals from reaching optimal health.

The Right Location

The planning process for these apartments was guided by future residents — chronically homeless individuals in Erie. Individuals surveyed shared they could find stability most easily in a safe, quiet, location, with options to bus or walk to downtown services. Located just two blocks off State Street, the former Washington School (most recently used as the Erie School District administrative office) is a perfect fit.
