Doors open at 6:30 PM. The film is 78 minutes long.
Defining Hope is a documentary film that weaves together the stories of persons with life-threatening illness, and the nurses who guide them, as they make choices about how they want to live, how much medical technology they can accept, and what they hope for. The film offers an inspiring message about bringing power back to the patient and helping people understand that they have choices when confronting life threatening illness and deciding on care.
The film will be followed by a question and answer period and gourmet desserts. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with local professionals to discuss advance directives and end of life care.
Nurses will receive 1.25 free contact hours for watching the film and completing the evaluation thanks to the generous support of Walden University.
Walden University is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This evening is made possible thanks to the generous support of Pauline Stevens, in memory of Dr. Richard Stevens.
